Labour Party endorsed Buhari for second term , promises 16 million votes

The factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, Dr Mike Omotosho, has said that Labour Party will actualise 16 million votes for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari if Buhari has programmes that will positively affect the masses.

He stated that the Labour Party had a preference for the welfare of the downtrodden and the masses.
He spoke on the sidelines of the inauguration of the ward and local government canvassers of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State and a public lecture in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The lecture was entitled: ‘Milestones of sustainable economic and social development in Nigeria.’

He stated that it was not impossible for the Labour Party to adopt Buhari as a presidential candidate if Buhari would work for the uplift of the masses.

Some of the top politicians in the state that attended the lecture included APC Kwara State governorship candidates, Alhaji Yaman Shauib and Prof Oba Abdulraheem; an APC chieftain, who is a former Kwara State founding Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Kunle Sulyman; APC chieftains: Simeon Ajibola, Iyiola Oyedepo, Bashir Bolarinwa and  the only APC legislator in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Saheed Popoola.

Omotosho said, “I am particularly delighted that Alhaji Lai Mohammed is already working towards getting 16 million votes. I want to assure you that with the Labour Party in support of this project, we are bringing an extra 16 million votes from the workers. However, we are still talking. For us in the Labour Party, it is about the masses. As long as the ideals of the Labour Party will be implemented and protected, we are on board.

“I bring them good tidings from the over 16 million workers of the Labour Party.

“We will bring 16 million votes to President Buhari. That is the vote we have.”
