$24,000 extortion: EFCC combs Shehu Sani’s houses, office

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday  searched  two houses and an office of the embattled Senator Shehu Sani in Abuja. The action, it was gathered, was part of the ongoing probe of the former lawmaker for alleged extortion of $24,000 from the Chairman of ASD Motors, Alhaji Sani Dauda.

The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressives Congress, said he ditched his former party owing to President Muhammadu Buhari’s “passionate” interest for the development of the Niger Delta region. Uduaghan in a statement made available to our correspondent on Wednesday morning and titled “Moving On To The Bigger Playing Field”, the former governor noted that despite Buhari inability to score the required 25 per cent in the 2015 election in the region, he has given direct focus to the development of the region.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday boasted that the All Progressives Congress, will win the 2019 presidential election. According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President spoke in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, while receiving the representatives of the 34 chairmen of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria.

The factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, Dr Mike Omotosho, has said that Labour Party will actualise 16 million votes for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari if Buhari has programmes that will positively affect the masses. The Independent National Electoral Commission in Ondo State on Wednesday said it had conveyed an aggregate of 1,201,073 Permanent Voter Cards to enlisted voters in the state. The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje, made this known at a partners' meeting in Akure. He said that 344, 006 PVCs were yet to be gathered and encouraged those yet to gather theirs to do as such while conveyance proceeded.

INEC Ready For Kogi State Gubernatorial Election

  The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) has guaranteed people in general that it is prepared and arranged to complete the gubernatorial decision in Kogi State, slated for November 21st. The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Kogi State, Halilu Pai, demanded that INEC is completely arranged to direct a free and reasonable decision. Mr. Pai said that 3,000 card perusers have been conveyed and a 5-week preparing has been produced in light of a few difficulties INEC confronted in the presidential race.
