JSS understudy charged for taking N200, utilizing charms


A 18-year-old auxiliary school understudy, Sadiq Adegbite, who professedly stole N200 from a kindred student and utilized appeal to badger different associates, was on Thursday brought under the watchful eye of an Ogudu Magistrates' Court in Lagos.

The blamed, an understudy of Junior High School, Ogudu, Lagos, is confronting a three numbers of trick, taking and messy behavior.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Fortunate Ihiehie, said the complainant, a 15-year-old understudy of the school, came to Ogudu Police Station to report the episode.

He said while the complainant was coming back from school at Emmanuel Street, Ogudu, he was ceased by the blamed and some for his companions now on the loose.

"They were pestering him and hunting his pockets down cash and they even beat him up.

"They confiscated him of his N200 transport admission which was the main cash he had in his pocket.

"A senior understudy acted the hero and the charged drew out a few charms from his pocket to startle them before the police came," he said.

Ihiehie told the court that the denounced's companions fled on locating the police.

The offenses negated Sections 166 (d), 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Adegbite, notwithstanding, argued not blameworthy.

His direction, Olusegun Aghahowa, begged the court to give him abandon liberal terms considering his age.

In her controlling, the Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat, conceded the blamed to a safeguard for N10, 000 with two sureties, one of who must be a blood relative of the blamed with a proof for beneficial work.

The case was suspended to November 1 for trial.
